What’s new in Revit 2022 – Filter by Family and Type in Schedules

Introduction

Revit 2022 has been released and we’ll be looking at some of the new features. In this blog we’ll focus on the ability to filter by Family and Type when using Schedules.

Process

Working with schedules you want to keep data input as minimal as possible to increase your productivity, especially if you have a large number of items for example Windows and Doors.

To focus on a specific item you would filter the data based on a unique name or number. In the past you had to add another unique variable that is Type based for example ‘Type Mark’ and give it a value so that you can filter your schedule by this ‘Type Mark’ property.

With the ability to filter by Family and Type combined or separately it removes the need to create these extra parameters and also to make sure that the additional data is correct.

Now you can simply Filter using the native Family or Type or combined in the ‘Family and Type’ parameter as shown below without adding any additional parameters or data entry.

Conclusion

With this new feature in Revit 2022 it greatly increases the ability to focus your data by filtering efficiently, either to count objects or show a specific item for example. This you now do without the need to add additional data or parameters, saving time and effort.
