AutoCAD Region for Window in Viewport Creation

A customer recently asked me to help them with a viewport with a hole in it. It took me some research, but then I read on the forums a solution.

First, create an outer polyline. Then create a second polyline inside the first.

Now you must change them into regions. You can use the boolean subtract tools to subtract one region from another region, creating a region with a hole in.

Simply choose to create the viewport using the object option. Zoom into the appropriate object, exit the viewport, set the scale as required, and then lock the viewport.

Then create the viewport that is supposed to fit into the hole. Do the same as above with the zoom and scale commands.

Place the detailed viewport into the hole created in the main viewport.
