It is essential for managing stock efficiently across multiple locations. Whether you’re dealing with raw materials, finished goods, or spare parts, accurate inventory data ensures smooth operations, minimises stockouts and improves decision-making. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to load inventory in Fusion Operations.
Prepare the Data: Before loading inventory, it’s crucial to have the correct data in place. You’ll need item numbers, quantities, sub-inventories, and locators. This data can be stored in a spreadsheet or any other data source. Fusion uses specific formats, so ensure that the data adheres to the required structure, including UOM (Units of Measure) and other essential details.

Navigate to the Inventory Management Module: In Fusion, go to the Inventory Management module. Here, you can manage all inventory tasks, including loading stock. Choose the appropriate task such as “Manage Item Quantities” or “Transfer Inventory.” For initial loads or mass updates, the “Inventory Transactions” or “Data Import” tools are often used.

Use the File-Based Data Import (FBDI): Fusion provides a File-Based Data Import (FBDI) tool to facilitate bulk loading of inventory data. Download the FBDI template from the Help Center, fill in the relevant inventory data, and then upload the file back into Fusion using the “Upload Data for Import” option.

Monitor the Import Process: Once the file is uploaded, monitor the process through the scheduled processes page. Any errors or issues with the data will be flagged here, allowing you to correct them before the inventory is fully loaded.

Validate the Loaded Inventory: After the data is processed, validate it by checking the Inventory Balances and performing cycle counts or reports to ensure accuracy. By following these steps, you’ll ensure a smooth and efficient inventory load in Fusion Operations.
