If you’re missing the classic AutoCAD interface, you’re not alone. Many users prefer the familiar, old-school look over the modern ribbon-based layout. Fortunately, you can easily switch back to a classic interface by following these steps.

Step 1: Close the Ribbon Bar
The first step to achieving the classic interface is to close the ribbon bar. You can do this by typing RIBBON in the command line, selecting Ribbon Close, and pressing Enter. This will remove the ribbon, giving you more room for toolbars.

Step 2: Close Open Tabs
Next, you’ll need to close any open tabs. Type OP in the command line to open the Options menu or navigate to File > Options. Go to the Display tab and make sure Display File Tabs is unchecked. Click Apply and OK to save the changes.

Step 3: Access the Menu Bar
To bring back the classic menu bar, open the Quick Access Toolbar and select Menu Bar. Alternatively, type MENUBAR in the command line and change its value from 0 to 1. This will make the menu bar appear at the top of your screen.

Step 4: Display the Required Toolbars
To add toolbars, open the Tools tab, expand Toolbars, and select AutoCAD. You can manually choose each toolbar, but there’s a quicker method.

In the command line, type -TOOLBAR and press Enter. You can now choose the toolbar names you’d like to include or simply select All to display every toolbar. You can also hide any toolbars you don’t need.

Step 5: Adjust the Toolbars
Now that your toolbars are visible, you can drag and snap them into place to organize your workspace or close the Toolbars that are not required.

Step 6: Save Your Workspace
Finally, save your customized setup. Go to Tools > Workspaces > Save Current As…. Type “AutoCAD Classic” and hit Save. Now, you can easily switch to the classic interface whenever you want.

By following these steps, you’ll restore the classic AutoCAD interface, making your workflow more familiar and comfortable. Plus, you’ll create a user profile that can be easily migrated to newer versions during upgrades
