How to Create a Product in Fusion Operations Part 1

Autodesk Fusion Operations defines a product as a series of processes that convert raw materials into a finished product.

Creating a new Product in Autodesk Fusion Operations involves defining its structure and processes. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Log in to Autodesk Fusion Operations

  • Access the platform using your credentials.
  • Navigate to the Products section from the main dashboard.

2. Create a New Product

  • Click on the Add New Product button (usually located in the Products section).
  • Provide a unique Product Name to identify it in the system.

3. Define Product Details

  • Enter relevant information, such as:
    • Code: A distinctive identifier assigned to the product
    • Name: Serves to recognize and identify a specific product easily
  • Observations – Optional field for adding comments or additional notes about the product.
  • Families – Organizing your products into ‘Families’ helps maintain a structured setup. Use this feature to group related products
  • Variable Parameters – Use this section to define variations in your product, such as color or size. For example, parameters could include ‘Color’ and ‘Size.’ Consider assigning unique product codes for each variation if precise inventory control is required.
  • Lead Time (days) – For raw materials, this indicates the estimated time required to receive the item after purchase. For produced goods or subassemblies, it represents the production time needed to complete the product. If no value is specified, the default is set to 15 days.
  • Box Quantity – Use this field if your product is produced in boxes on the shop floor. This information will be displayed in the header section of the production order.
  • Material Receiving Checklist – This section allows you to add a checklist that will appear when receiving the product. It is typically used for quality control during the receiving process.
