After spending hours building your model frame and using the input wizards, you’ve loaded all your members and are ready to hit the Solve button. The analysis progress bar starts filling up, and just when you think everything is going smoothly, a message appears:

You select “No” for the program to navigate to the input table where the error occurred. With the beam element error tab open, the error indicates that there are superimposed beams:

This error has astounded many users and the issue they are experiencing is due to tolerance settings. Using the wizard with a coarse tolerance can superimpose some beams on top of each other. The tolerance was too large and it got merged. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
- Adjust Tolerance Settings:
- Go to the Settings page.
- At the bottom of the page, find and adjust the tolerance setting to a finer level.

- Run the Wizard Again:
- After changing the tolerance setting, re-run the input wizard.
- This should prevent the creation of superimposed beams.
- Manual Check:
- If the issue persists, manually review the model for any overlapping beams.
- Delete any duplicates to ensure there are no superimposed beams.
By following these steps, the program should run the analysis successfully.
