Autodesk – Assign software to a user

When assigning an AutoCAD license seat to a new user, the process will be for Autodesk Single-User License . Here are the steps to assign a seat based on the license type:

Single-User License (Subscription-based Licenses)

For a single-user license, each seat is associated with an individual Autodesk account. To assign the new user, follow these steps in the Autodesk Account Portal:

Steps:

Log into Autodesk Account:

  1. Visit Autodesk Account and log in using your Autodesk admin credentials.
  2. Access User Management:
  3. Once logged in, go to the User Management section from the left-hand menu.
  4. If you have more than one product or subscription, choose either By User or By Product.

Assign a User:

If you select By User:

  1. Click on the Invite Users button, and then enter the new user’s email address.
  2. Select the product (AutoCAD) you want to assign to the user.
  3. Click Send Invite. The user will receive an email inviting them to accept and use the AutoCAD license.

   If you select By Product:

  1. Select the AutoCAD product from the list.
  2. Click Assign Users and add the new user’s email address. You can also manage existing assignments here.

Activation Process (User’s Side):

  1. Once the new user receives the invitation email, they must accept it.
  2. They’ll log in with their Autodesk ID in AutoCAD to activate the license.
  3. The license will be tied to their Autodesk account, allowing them to use AutoCAD on any device where they sign in.
