Revit 2025 Electrical Circuit Naming for Template using Properties

When you create a Revit electrical panel schedule, you may be interested in how the circuits are named.

Start with the electrical settings. This can be found on the Systems Tab > Electrical Panel

In the UK, circuits are identified by ‘ways’ and phase.  Ways is the grouping of three circuits spanning the three phases.  Further, the phases aren’t referred to as A, B, and C, but rather as L1, L2, and L3. Using this nomenclature, we apply the electrical settings as follows.

There are three phases to name in the General category. Here we rename them from 1 to L1, 2 to L2, and 3 to L3.

Now move your focus to the Circuit Naming category.

Create a new scheme.

In this example the Circuit is named By Way and Phase. Then the Ways and Phase Label fields are added to the scheme. Click on OK.

When you want to use this circuit naming standard on a panel schedule, select the panel and then set the property in the Electrical Circuiting instance properties.

After this is done, the panel schedule should look something like this.

Now that you saw the British method being applied, you should also be able to take your own country or company circuit naming conventions and apply them in Revit.
