When you have installed AutoCAD onto a different Computer and you have custom settings on the one pc that you would like to take over to the different pc, How do you do this? Well, there are a few ways this can be achieved.
The first way is by migrating the settings and saving it onto a flash drive. Let’s have a look at how this can be done.
In your search bar, type in AutoCAD, make sure apps is selected, and scroll down to export AutoCAD Settings.

Once the export option has been selected , you can choose the destination where you would like to save this settings to. When these settings are saved to a portable hard drive or USB device, you can simply plug it into the new pc and then follow the same process, but in this case, you will simply select Import settings. Very important to remember that this assists if you are exporting and importing to the same version of AutoCAD. When the custom settings were done on previous versions and then migrated into the new versions, the original profile settings will be needed to complete this migration, otherwise you might run into some errors. Please see below details on where to find the original User Profile saved location, that will be saved on the computer’s hard drive. C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx
It is very important to keep in mind that the original profile that was used to customize the settings and saved is the one that needs to be used. Please see part two for more ways this can be achieved.
