A student recently had to create a small project for Advance steel, where they started from a template. When one completes files from a course, typically, most of the settings have already been applied for the student. It therefore comes as a surprise when they try to create a Bill of Materials (BOM) and the take-off will not work.
The following error shows up:
‘No matching base objects found. Please check the selection definition. If the property \”class\” is switched on, a value (beam, plate, …) is required’
The steps that you need to take are stipulated in the following article
On the ribbon: –> Output –> Part marks panel –> Numbering
This opens the Numbering – Identical Part Detection dialogue. On the General tab, make sure to check the box for Process assemblies on the Assembly region.
