AEC Collection for Architectural Workflows – Part 3 of 3

Introduction

In this third part of the blog we’ll be looking at the software that is included in the Autodesk Architecture Engineering and Construction collection that can be used to broaden your services as part of the architectural workflow. In total there are about 20 odd different software titles in the collection.

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 2 Infraworks

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 3 Vehicle Tracking

These civil based software titles are primarily used in the architectural environment to show the context and infrastructure around the building. Some of these tasks can be done by the architectural professionals to create a site layout using survey points and linking it into Revit for instance. Most tasks are done by the Civil industry professionals.

Robot Structural Analysis/ Bridge Design

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 7 Robot

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 8 Structural Bridge Design

These tools are used by the Structural Engineer to analyse the building with regards to loads, forces and strengths of the building and the components required to make the building stand. You can link the analytical model from Revit into Robot to reduce rework.

Advanced Steel

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 11 Advanced Steel

This tool is used by the Structural engineer or fabricator to draw and detail a steel construction for fabrication. You can link your Revit model to Advanced Steel to reduce rework.

Fabrication CADmep

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 13 Febrication CADmep

This tool is used by the MEP professional to create ducting and piping either from scratch or converting the Revit MEP pipes and duct to fabrication parts into a higher level of detail for manufacturing purposes.

Navisworks Manage

AEC Collection for Arch workflows Part 3 - 15 Navisworks

This tool is used to import all the various industry models into one platform and then you can use this tool to visualize the whole model, clash detect between the various models and also create time based construction scheduling to plan your project’s construction.

Conclusion

Using the software above in your workflow you can reduce the time it takes for your projects to be designed and built and with fewer errors, which all save money. It also opens the possibility to broaden the range of services you can provide to clients, as you have the software already.
