I was stumped when I could not find the 3D VIEWBASE tools on the Layout tab for AutoCAD. I eventually came across a help article published by Autodesk that instructed me how to go about recovering the VIEWBASE Layout Tools for AutoCAD. Without this article I might just have repaired or reinstalled AutoCAD.

You need to open the Custom User Interface and reload the tools from an external file. Using the CUI is a more advanced topic so if you would level like to have Micrographics assist you, please don’t hesitate to contact us. 

VIEWBASE tools help you create normal and isometric views quickly from the 3D object in the model space. You can also create sections easily. In the past, we had to use SOLVIEW and SOLDRAW.
