We sometimes have clients who freelance for different companies. They do not always have their own software. Instead, the companies sometimes assign software to an email that is specifically created for the user for that specific company.
In other words, there are, to all intents and purposes, two Autodesk users on the machine. So how does the Autodesk software recognise whether you are using the software legally?
The answer is that you are recognized through the Autodesk Access app that is accessible in your system tray.

When you open this app, you will see that you are signed into the app via your Autodesk username. After you sign in, the Autodesk software you are using will look to the Autodesk Access app to verify your identity.
If you sign out, you can then sign in with a different Autodesk username to use the software assigned to that username instead.
If you want to see what software is available to you under your Autodesk username, click on the “View all your products and services” link that has been included for your convenience.

That not only navigates to your Autodesk Account, but also signs in for you automatically.
The Autodesk Access App also shows you all the available updates for your computer. Very convenient if you like to keep up to date every now and then and apply bug fixes.
