I have been pleasantly surprised by how quickly the teams I consult pick up on how to use the Autodesk Construction Cloud. Typically, I am asked to help the BIM / Project manager set up the file structure and permissions in Docs, the teams in Collaborate, and the clash detection folders in Coordinate. This is a relatively quick process, followed by a short course teaching the supply chain to use the cloud. There are usually some teething problems, but these are typically quickly sorted out. Every now and then a situation may require my attention, but generally, the teams then carry on with their work without much of an issue. It does not always work. Sometimes some of us just like a chat about the platform so we can learn from each other.
Still, sometimes there are those in the teams that have been left behind. How can they learn the skills they need without incurring an extra cost to their company? The solution is within the help section of Autodesk Construction Cloud and is called the Learning Centre.
I would advise any team leader to make their teams aware of the learning Centre, and that they can also create help cases with Autodesk if necessary. In fact, using the help in the Autodesk Construction Cloud is the only way I know of for team members on cloud projects to get help, so it is not only convenient but also critical to know of. I might not always be available to handle my client’s queries over weekends, leave, and holidays, so who would they turn to?
