I learned that Revit 2025 has the new capability for sheet arrangement called sheet collections. We investigated this capability to see how we could overcome the limitations of a specific sheet naming convention of a new adopter of Revit.
Two notable points to make Is that the sheets may have the same numbering within sheet collections and that the export to PDF command is able to leverage the sheet collection within the naming template. This would not be my first choice when setting up a professional Revit template.
This does not mean that sheet collections are not relevant to a professional Revit template. I found it irritating that one could not group sheets properly before Revit 2025. We just used three sheet number leading characters. Now the Ravit sheet collections gives us the ability to list the sheets under proper headings.
