A Revit (Cloud or Design) container file in the BIM 360 Projects Files folder is useful for “live coordination”. This works especially well in teams where BIM Managers have access to the unilaterally cleared models in the Shared folder of the Project Folder portion of BIM 360.
What would the typical construction of these 3D views entail? In this blog, I look at the Architectural and Structural disciplines, although a similar methodology can be applied to other disciplines.
View family types are created for each discipline.
In these much of the visibility graphics will be controlled by a view template, except the Revit links, through which individual floor worksets will be toggled on or off.
The elements in the files that are linked were assigned worksets per level in the linked models. These worksets are available through the Visibility Graphics settings of the View. The native worksets are also available, and because each link is brought in on its own workset, they are easy to switch off in the view.
So, for the Architectural view, leaving only the Architectural link workset on. Then set the link to display as Custom and enter to isolate the Architectural workset.
The same is done for the Structural discipline.
