I received an interesting query during a course the other day. Can one create a table for the segments of more than one alignment? In most courses, alignment segments are table per alignment. It turns out that one can create a table for alignment segments per alignment segment label style. So, if one were to set up an alignment segment label style, one can apply it to the alignments of interest. Then the table can be created for all those segments in one table.
Add a segment table from the Alignment category under the Add Tables tool in the Labels and Tables panel of the Annotate Tab of the Ribbon Toolbar.
Choose “Select by label or style”. Note, you can choose one of many styles to include, not just one.
As you can see, three alignments used these label styles and are now listen in the table.
The order in which the items are displayed is first the tangents on the first alignment, then the curves on the first alignment. Then the table steps to the second alignment, again listing the tangents first and then the curves.
In one sense the ability to use styles for table filters add some welcome complexity to Civil 3D. imagine there are specific stretches of road that you may be interested in highlighting, then using a style can easily allow you to table them.
