Introduction:
Revit 2021 has been released on the 8th April 2020 and there are many new features added to the software. In future blogs we’ll cover those but in this one we’ll show you how to get to the area where you can learn more about these new features.
Opening Revit 2021 for the first time:
After the installation you’ll open Revit and see a welcome screen that asks you some question with the aim to customize the workspace. Click the start button.
In the follow up dialogue box you will be asked which discipline you are going to use. You can select one or all of them. And then select your role.
These settings will be saved and the UI will change according to the selected settings. However, you can change these UI settings in the Revit Option dialogue box and turn the various industry related ribbons on or off. Let look at how to do so. Open the Options dialogue box as shown.
Once you have access to Options dialogue look for the tab called ‘User Interface’ on the left and then turn on or off the various ribbon as shown and click OK.
Once you have returned to the main screen, you can access the ‘Whats New’ area on the bottom left of the screen. Select the link.
This will take you to the internet and the Revit 2021 page. Here you again select the ‘What’s New” link and it will take you to the actual page.
The What’s New page has all the new features on. Click on the first one under the ‘Create’ section called Slanted Walls, for instance.
This will open a page on this new feature. And if you want to lean more on how to use this new feature you can follow the step by step instructions, as shown.
