How to create a room content schedule in AutoCAD Architecture
Introduction
We recently been asked about how to create a room schedule listing all the items inside that room using AutoCAD Architecture. In this blog we’ll show you how to do this.
Preparation
In the drawing below we drew some walls. Added a floor, some doors and furniture. We also add spaces and then space tags.
Most of the tools we found on the Tool palettes and the furniture we found in the Content Browser.
Process
So the first step is to open the Vision Tool tab. Then select the Calculate Room Quantities. In the dialogue box make sure the Furniture Objects and all the others are ticked as the tool will then read these selected objects. Click Calculate and OK.
As you can see all the Furniture Objects has been read and labelled. In this example the chair has an ID of 11. There are also Multi-View block annotations.
In the main Tool palette on the left select the Roombook tab and the Furniture Object Schedule under the International part. Window select the whole floor plan. Press enter and place the schedule.
Result
Looking at the schedule we’ll see that the chair with ID 11 is listed under the Bedroom2 as shown.
Conclusion
Using these tools you can accurately create facilities management schedules recording the objects within each room, saving you lots of time.
