How to set Revit unreferenced sectional view lines to auto hide
Introduction
We have recently received a question on how to hide temporary section lines or section lines which section have not been placed on a sheet.
Process
Using Revit you would create additional section and section lines through your building to be able to use to work and see inside your building. We call these working sections. Often these sections do not reach the sheets and as a result their Section Head information do not get filled in.
This can apply to other views like Elevation markers that you’ve placed on your views but those elevation views have not been placed on sheets.
Solution
The reason why we highlight the above is that you can automatically hide these unreferenced view icons like the section line and elevation marker using a particular option when printing.
When you open the Print dialogue box, select the Settings button. Then go to Option area and make sure the “Hide unreferenced View Tags” option is turned on.
This will hide the annotation items and they will not appear in your prints.
Conclusion
Using this method, you can quickly remove unnecessary annotation markers and thus clean up your drawing when printing reducing the need to manually turn off section lines and elevation markers.
