This blog follows on from the earlier one on how to sign up for the BIM 360 Design Trial.
If you just started your trial of BIM 360, then you are afforded the role of Account Administrator. This means you can set up Companies, Roles, Membership and so on. You may even invite another person running the BIM 360 Design trial to join as an Account Administrator.
To start, log into BIM 360 (click on the picture to follow the link)
Go to “BIM 360 Account Admin
Start by creating companies (when you add members, they need to be assigned a company).
Also look at the existing roles and permissions and define some new roles if you need something different.
Go to the “Settings” tab to add Account Administrators. Add the email of the person then “Save”.
An email is sent to the email address.
In the “Members” tab, click on the new Account Administrator to edit their details.
Click on “Edit”
When done, “Save”
Next, create some users. Note, it is possible to add new members to the account from within a project, but then the default Company and Role is not assigned as if one were to create the user in Account Admin and one would have to edit the user definitions in account admin later to redefine them.
Go to the Members tab and click on “Add” and then “Add people to the member directory”.
Note, if there are many users that need to be imported into the account, then rather import by spreadsheet.
Download the template and add the members.
