Recovering A Revit Workshared File

Suppose a user initiates a central file and then creates a local copy, is it possible to recover the file if the files were deleted from the server and the local Revit file was also deleted (but the backup folder still exists)?

The local copy of the file is kept in an unfamiliar location (not in the “Default path for user files” folder as specified in the Revit options)

The same process can also be followed with cloud Workshared folders which are saved in:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\<Autodesk Revit Version>\CollaborationCache

The file name is a Global Unique Identifier (GUID), so unless one knows when one worked on the file, one must open the file to understands which file it is.

If you need help with recovering central files (be they LAN or Cloud based), or BIM in general, please contact Micrographics so we may be of assistance to you.
