It was always challenging for me to get the idea of the Revit Internal Origin across in my classroom. That was because it was an invisible point in Revit. Something one could only see when unclipping the Project Base Point and moving it to the “Start Up Location”.
Imagine my surprise when Revit 2020 incorporated the Revit Internal Origin using a UCS icon!
That is great! Another reason to use Revit 2020 if possible.
Remember to model close to the Revit Internal Origin. Revit does not behave well when geometry is far away from this point. In our Advanced course we will teach you how to manage the Project around the Project Base Point and Survey Point using shared locations and the relocation of the project. When it is done correctly, you can position your model in any orientation in the world.
