PyRevit is a very useful Revit Add-In that can be installed from Github. The commands exposed by PyRevit remind me of the Express Tools in AutoCAD.
Installing it is quite easy. Just browse to the following page, scroll down to the *.exe file and execute.
The file is downloaded. Run the file and install any additionally required components.
Restart the computer after installation and then accept the add-in when starting up Revit.
PyRevit is shown as a separate tab.
I can already hear guys like me groaning, (Revit does not handle new tabs well). No worries, you can minimize the tabs using PyRevit! My new favorite tool! You can even specify which tabs you want to hide!
And even though this is a small screen, all the tabs are visible. There is no need to fiddle with finicky controls to get the to required tabs.
There are loads of other interesting and useful commands you can leverage against your model and it is all free.
The tools are categorized into panels as usual:
pyRevit (Add-In management)
Toggles (User Interface and Views)
Selection (Selection of Items)
Analysis (Mostly Architectural)
Modify (Useful Tools e.g. Renumbering)
Drawing Set (Views and Revisions)
Project (Project Management)
Depending on your role and your responsibilities some of these tools will be of interest to you, I am sure. Install the Add-In and try some of them.
