I have often discussed the Revit UK BIM Protocol with colleagues and companies. Most of them do not practice hiding views from the View section of the project browser if the views have been placed on sheets. I think the basic idea behind the protocol was to ensure that the views that are supposed to populate the sheets are properly managed so that there is no last-minute rush to complete the drawings when one comes to a print run.
In Revit 2023 we now have a built-in ability to see which views have been placed on sheets. While this does not fulfill the same function as the original protocol, it is now easy for a manager to see which views have been processed on sheets. And if the original method is preferred, one can still revert to the old protocol in addition to relying on the functionality.
