A relatively new feature of Revit is that we can create door schedules to show door family types in conditional format. Conditional formatting is where we can highlight in a schedule with reference to some logical test. If a door is of a certain type, then highlight the door. This can be useful to locate doors of a certain type in the model because they can be navigated to from the schedule. It is probably more suitable during the design phase, but you might also find a way to incorporate this capability into the deliverables. The Family and Type parameter field should be used when using this conditional format feature. When you are done with the conditional formatting it is easily removed.
