Revit 2024 – Spot Elevation Relative Base and Custom Tags

Spot elevation tags can display an elevation based on the project or the site survey point and a relative base. To reference the relative base, you first need to activate the relative base in the type properties, after which the property will be available in the instance properties. This is sometimes necessary on site as the measurement references are sometimes not the project or the site points. The behavior is different from the behavior of levels. With levels this is available without changing the type of element first.

What if you wanted to create a custom floor tag to show the family and type of the floor in addition to the relative base. Can one do that? The answer, unfortunately, is no. You would need to insert a spot elevation in addition to the floor tag.
