In this blog we consider the detailing on the sides of long members that are at a scale that results on the details on either side not being able to be placed on one sheet. The alternative would have been to create duplicate sections and to place them on the sheet independently. The section box can be shortened, but not lengthened, so care must be taken when first creating the split and moving it into place. After the view is arranged as required, we can fill in the details and annotate as required. If the same details are required in other drawings, you can also export the view to a DWG file format, return it into a drafting view, and write it out to a detail library.
