I wanted to investigate a few things around Civil 3D 2022 and the Autodesk Construction Cloud. How do Civil 3D Shortcuts perform when on the cloud? Is it easy to copy an existing LAN-based project onto the cloud? To make my life easy, I started with the typical course folder that we use in our Civil 3D Essentials Course.
Dragging the folder into the browser interface does not work. A message appears that starts that: “Upload does not support folder, upload file.” If one tries to use the upload function on the cloud, it only allows one to select files, not folders, so the browser interface simply does not support this.
However, when one drags the folder onto the Cloud synced folder that is on the hard drive, it is possible to copy folders as well as files.
It takes a short time for the folders and files to be copied onto the new location on the hard drive.
Now this folder structure and the files it contains must be synched onto the Autodesk Construction Cloud as well. This is where the Desktop Connector is very useful in terms of feedback. As it is synching, and in this case, it is encountering problems that are brought to the attention of the operator through windows notifications.
