A brief summary :
Autodesk AutoCAD 2025 introduces several new features and improvements designed to enhance user productivity and collaboration. Here are some of the key updates
- Smart Blocks: This new feature includes “Search and Convert,” which allows users to quickly organize geometry into blocks. By selecting geometry, AutoCAD can highlight and convert matching objects into instances of a block, leveraging AI for improved workflow efficiency
- Activity Insights: A new tool that tracks and compares DWG versions, combining features from the previous DWG History tool. This can be accessed through a new palette while working on a drawing or directly from the Start Tab
- ArcGIS® Basemaps: Users can now underlay one of five ArcGIS Basemaps from Esri, including high-resolution satellite imagery and OpenStreetMap, to ground projects with real-world geographical information
- Hatch Enhancements: The HATCH command has been improved to allow the addition of hatch patterns with custom boundaries, enabling more flexibility in design
- DWG Compare: This feature allows users to compare two versions of a drawing without leaving the current window, enhancing version control and collaboration
- Enhanced Collaboration Tools: Including the ability to attach Navisworks models as underlays and import models from other applications, as well as improved tools for sharing and comparing drawings
- Performance Improvements: On average, 2D files now open twice as fast compared to AutoCAD 2024, thanks to optimizations in the file handling process
These updates, among others, demonstrate Autodesk’s commitment to improving the user experience and integrating advanced technologies into AutoCAD 2025.
