What’s new in Revit 2022 – Grids in 3D Views
Introduction
Revit 2022 has been released and we’ll be looking at some of the new features. In this blog we’ll focus on the ability to show Grids on the 3D views.
Process
The last couple of Revit releases Autodesk has been looking at showing more info in the 3D views. Recently in Revit 2019 the Level lines was made visible in the 3D views. You can turn the level on by enabling the Levels inside the Visibility Graphics Overrides.
With Revit 2022 you can now turn on the grids in the 3D view. However, you don’t turn the grid’s visibility on via the Visibility Graphics Overrides settings like you do for the Levels. In the View Property area there is a “Show Grids” Property which, when you can select the Edit button you can pick on which level the grid lines would appear. In the example below I selected Level 2 and the grid are displays on this level’s height. You can select multiple heights, but it does not make sense to do so, as you’ll have too many Grid lines and it could confuse people.
Conclusion
This new feature allows you to visualize your construction gris and this do allow you to more clearly understand the particular structure in 3D without the need to flip between the plan and the 3D view for instance.
