What’s new in Revit 2022 – Load Autodesk Family enhancements

Introduction

Revit 2022 has been released and we’ll be looking at some of the new features. In this blog we’ll focus on the enhancements made to the Load Autodesk Family tool.

Process

In Revit 2021 the beta Load Autodesk Family tool was added. As everything is moving to the cloud and most users have fast internet the addition of this tool allows the content to also move to the cloud to stay with this trend. This also allows for Autodesk to increase the size of these libraries as they are only hosted in the cloud and you would only download a couple of families as you need them. Currently the problem of increasing these libraries in size is that people will start to struggle to download these large libraries all at once.

The Load Autodesk Family tool looks at a cloud library of standard Revit content and you can Load any on demand.

This eliminates the need to download large libraries of content to your local PC. However you’ll need relatively fast and reliable internet to use this tool as you cannot link to the cloud library is you don’t have internet.

Just remember to set the Country you want to content of:

Now in Revit 2022 they have added more navigation tools which simplifies the process even more. Allowing you to move back and forth between your search history to find what you are looking for much quicker.

With the new feature and the ability to search for content on the fly it makes it easier to search for, download and use content in your projects.
