Prokon’s SUMO module offers a feature called Reports that might not immediately reveal its functionality. Located within the View section of all SUMO ribbons, the Reports button allows users to access this feature very easily. However, understanding its utility requires a deeper dive.
Upon clicking the Reports button, SUMO captures a snapshot of the current model view, storing it in the Reports interface. To access this interface, users navigate to the Reports Workspace. Here, they encounter an interface resembling the familiar Calcpad layout, complete with Header and Equation functions.

Within the Reports Workspace, users can import Calcpad (.ppf) files and export reports as .ppf or MS Word files. This versatility enables users to integrate their reports into existing documentation or share them with collaborators who may not use SUMO.
The Reports functionality serves as a valuable tool for documenting specific analysis results, such as Deflections, Bending Moments, Axial Forces, and Shear Forces. Users can graphically represent these results, making them easily understandable for stakeholders.
In addition to the Reports functionality, SUMO provides users with the ability to customize settings according to their preferences. By navigating to SUMO settings, users can set the default resolution for image size and quality.
One of the standout features of Reports is its ability to generate high-quality images. These images can be exported to MS Word for inclusion in design reports or shared separately with interested parties. This capability ensures that users can effectively communicate analysis results and streamline the reporting process within SUMO.
By leveraging the Reports feature in Prokon’s SUMO model, users can enhance their structural design documentation and streamline their workflow. Despite its understated presence, Reports proves to be a powerful asset for SUMO users seeking to communicate their analysis results effectively.
