Recently I had the opportunity to assist with the creation of a custom spec for a client. We added the pipes, the bends, the tees, the valves (which were AutoCAD blocks created from STEP files). Testing the pipe gave no issues. Everything connected correctly and there were no leaky connections in AutoCAD Plant 3D.

We then added the equipment that the pipes were connected to and we had a problem. It kicked up an error. One or mor items have caused an error. Cannot connect parts.

The reason for this is that we did not have a nozzle or connecting union available in our Nozzle catalog and because of this Plant is not able to connect the 2 components.

To create this union or nozzle which attaches itself to your equipment, you will need to browse to the nozzle catalog in the common folder which resides in your AutoCAD Plant content folder.Create your component with the correct end type and size so that your piping can connect and save it back into the catalog.

Once that is done create/edit the nozzle to where your pipe will attach on your custom equipment and assign the nozzle that you created in the nozzle catalog.
