Autodesk Inventor has some powerful sheet metal capabilities which allow you to create almost anything that needs to be created with a flat piece of plate being bent and unbent. This video showcases the unfold and refold feature which assists in creating cuts over bends or placing a feature in the folded sheet metal by the process of unfolding some or all of the bends, creating a cut or feature on the flattened piece and then folding it again to continue with your design process.
