Autodesk Subscription Do’s and Dont’s

When you subscribe to Autodesk software you need to be aware of some licensing do’s and dont’s when using the software. Many of us when installing software do not read any of the End User License Agreement (EULA). This blog will highlight some of the crucial elements that I deem important when installing your software so as not to become non compliant when utilising the Autodesk software.

Question – How many computers can I install my Autodesk software on?

Answer – With a subscription to Autodesk software, you can install it on up to 3 computers or other devices. However, only the named user can sign in and use that software on a single computer at any given time.

Scenario – I have a project where I need to use older versions of Autodesk software. What are the rules around this?

Answer – With the Autodesk Subscription offering you are able to install and activate the latest version plus up to 5 versions back. With the 3 previous versions you will still get support from Autodesk. So we are currently on 2023 so you are allowed to use that plus 2020, 2021 and 2022. When it comes to version 4 and 5 (2018 and 2019) you will be able to activate but you do not get any support from Autodesk. This is technical support, software update and hotfixes.

With this in mind, make sure that the software you are using is in accordance with the EULA especially when it comes to your software upgrade cycle.
