When we learn as draftpersons to create isometric projections, we are taught the first angle and third angle. Third angle is commonly practiced in the United States of America. First angle is commonly practiced in Europe and South Africa.
Advanced Steel, out-of-the-box as published by Autodesk, assumes that the user is intending to draw in third angle projection. In this short video we show you where to set the software to generate your views in the first angle projection.
To change out the setting, navigate to the: Home Tab > Settings Panel > Management Tools > Drawing General > General > Behavior of Automatic View Arrangement
Then change the setting out to either ISO European Standard or ISO European Standard – Including End Plate Views.
