Many Engineering companies are ISO (International Standards Organization) compliant. In the AEC (Architecture Engineering and Construction) sector, this is also the case. In addition to the ISO standards, there is also a need to comply with BIM standards.
Now the UK is in the process of setting up such standards, and it would be good to pay careful attention to them. Not only will it be beneficial to the Engineers on a project, but also to the Architects, as Collaboration will require a commonality to be declared in both the Corporate BIM Protocols and the Project BIM Execution Plan.
The British Standards Organization has released the following news update:
Two standards will be released later this year:
BS EN ISO 19650–1
- Organization of information about construction works
- Information management using building information modelling
