In earlier versions of Revit, users could customise keyboard shortcuts, but these were limited mostly to modelling and annotation commands. Shortcuts for view and sheet workflows weren’t available.

With the latest Revit 2026 updates, Autodesk has introduced the ability to assign shortcuts to sheet and view commands, making navigation and editing much faster.

New Shortcut Options

You can now create custom shortcuts for:

Open Selected Views on a Sheet

• Quickly open a view that has been placed on a sheet. This also works when you select a view reference inside another view (e.g., a section or callout).

Open Section, Elevation or Callout

• This allows you to open a selected section, elevation or callout marker and takes you to the selected view.

Open the Sheet Containing the Active View

• If you’re working in a view (e.g., a floor plan) and want to jump directly to the sheet where that view has been placed, this command will take you there instantly.

Edit a Schedule on a Sheet

• Select a placed schedule on a sheet and open it for editing without needing to manually navigate through the Project Browser.

Move Aligned to Sheet View

• Allows you to move multiple elements placed on a sheet (such as title blocks, legends, or views) while keeping them aligned to the sheet grid.

How to Assign a Custom Shortcut

1. Go to: View Tab → Windows Panel → User Interface → Keyboard Shortcuts

1. In the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, use the search bar to find the command you want to assign (e.g., Open Sheet).

1. Under Press New Keys, type your desired key combination.
   • If the shortcut is available, you can assign it.
   • If it’s already in use, Revit will alert you, and you’ll need to choose a different combination.
2. Click Assign, then OK to save.
