On the 12th of May 2016, Micrographics held their Cape Town Inventor user group at our offices in Pinelands. We had a nice full room from users as far away as Wellington and Atlantis. With Inventor 2017 supporting 4K displays we had the pleasure of being lent a nice powerful demo machine from Rectron, one of our preferred suppliers as well as having a 28” Samsung UHD monitor. Next to our 65” TV it did look very small and one of the users did comment on how the Samsung looked to be only 24”.
We also had Makerbot on the scene to have a chat to the users about 3D printing.
In fact as the users were milling about enjoying the snacks and drinks, the makerbot was hard at work creating a little chain that would get passed around when the part was done. The users really enjoyed that experience. Some of them had not seen 3D printed parts before and I really feel that giving them this experience would push users to start thinking about the different technologies that are coming out and how they could use it in the future.
In the background Inventor was running full tilt rendering a quad bike. The visuals were amazing! On a 4K screen Inventor really does please the eye and well done to Autodesk for improving graphics 100 fold.
Micrographics will be holding these user groups every 3 months so check in with us on info.ct@mgfx.co.za or you can get hold of the team on 021 532 1000.
