Micrographics has recently become a reseller for Woodwork for Inventor (W4I). Woodwork for Inventor is an add-on that greatly enhances the capabilities of using Inventor (traditionally a manufacturing software package) as a tool for the furniture industry.  As it is an add-on it allows you to stay within the interface of Inventor making it easier and quicker to get up and running.

W4I enables you to select materials often used in the woodwork industry.  You can specify things like what banding, grain direction and the different hardware you would like to use.  With the hardware inserted you can also cut out the holes in the boards where appropriate using the W4I sculpt command.

Reports are also automatically generated for the different departments that are involved with the creation of the furniture that you are designing.  This drastically drives down the time required to get your design out for production.

W4I will also automatically generate the CNC code once again saving time.  You don’t waste time getting someone else to do the coding.  W4I  has also recently introduced nesting capabilities further enhancing your design experience.
