Inventor 2023 CPU Usage

When working in Inventor 2023 or any CAD software your PC plays a big part in how fast or slow your software will run.

How does your model react when you rotate it to inspect the other side or how long does it take for the line command to start after activating the command. With this in mind always have a look at what the recommended specs are and try to get a machine that is above the recommended Autodesk specification. This is budget dependent but it should also future proof your PC for another 5 years or so.

If you are running Inventor and it is slow there are a few things you can look at especially if your PC is running over and above the recommended specs.

First thing to check is Antivirus. Antivirus protection is extremely important in today’s online age and you need to be protected but it does not have to come at the loss of performance. Make sure that you have excluded Inventor from being scanned in realtime. If you can exclude the Inventor.exe it is a start r you could exclude the following locations. This should see some improvement if you think your Antivirus is working overtime.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk
C:\Users\Public\Documents\.forever

Another option that is plaguing Inventor 2023 is the CefSharp.BrowserSubProcess process running at a very high CPU usage. To solve this problem if you find that Inventor is struggling when you use it and your PC sounds like it is a jumbo jet just about to take off, try switching off the Show Home at Startup. it should help in alleviating that particular issue.
