When customizing Plant 3D to suit your company.
One of the main things that need to be added is the company standard borders to our drawings.
Our Plant borders we will need to set up is mainly the P&ID, Ortho, and Isometric drawings.
If you do not know where to look, these can be a pain to locate.
First in P&ID, we need to find the default location,
The fastest way to do this is to go to the Project Setup > Paths
This shows the file locations normally setup when creating a project.
The default location of the P&ID template file is the same as the normal template file location in the AppData folder.
I would recommend that if you are working with more than one person that this is changed to a shared location.
Below I’m using my desktop to simulate this.
Once you have located the template file,
Open it,
If you have created a border in AutoCAD before then this will be very simple,
The basics are the same as the differences just being added functionality.

Next is the Isometric Title Block,
- This can be found in Isometric DWG Settings > Title Block and Display.
- From the dropdown list you can select the sheet to customise, e.g. Check_A2… This list is modified in the template folder structure shown below at 4a.
- To edit the Title block, you can just select Setup Title Block… this directly opens editor to customise the drawing.
- By default, the location of the templates is stored in the project but should be listed in the field.

Lastly the Otho title blocks can be found under Orth DWG Settings > Title Block and Display
As like the Isos, by default, the location of the templates is stored in the project but should be listed in the field.
To edit the Title block, you can just select Setup Title Block… this directly opens editor to customise the drawing.
