Vault Thin Client 2022 – Getting in

Autodesk Vault thin client has been around for a while but it has been neither here or there. In the 2021 release and before it would work as read only in Vault Professional or with an Office license it would be able to work in Vault Workgroup.

In Vault 2022 it throws all that out the window and strives to be the best it can be but read only. It also introduces a nice dark theme which is always a win in my books.

With the 2022 collection of products it has become read only but only works with Vault Professional and I think this is brilliant. How many of your colleagues need to just view and print, I know many companies that need just that.

I never remember how to log into the thin client so this is what you need to do.

Type in the following –

The following window pops up.

Remember to add any users that you want to have access to the Vault otherwise the next part will not work. Enter the details and then you will have aceess.
Look at that lovely dark theme 🙂

One thing to remember that the default for the Vault thin client is to only show files that have been released. To show everything click on your initials in the top right hand corner and navigate to settings.

Make sure that show released files only is unticked and you are good to go. Happy Vaulting 🙂
